part i.
Character name: Emily Finch

Species (vampire, werewolf, what have you): human with some innate supernatural abilities (human +?)
Character powers:
Emily, like her father, influences probability fields in her favor. Though it happens at a low-level naturally, her father taught her some measure of control. The harder she “pushes,” the more unlikely a result she can cause; if she pushes too hard, the ability can occasionally backfire, making the odds tilt against her instead. Generally, she saves this ability for dire situations, as it tends to draw the attention of empaths and other magic users if used too liberally.

In addition, she has an affinity for metal, allowing her to manipulate it with an exercise of will. Physically smaller objects are easier for her to manipulate; she’s good with bullets, knives, and locks. She can, however, sometimes manage bigger things or focus on component parts of bigger things. (For example, she couldn’t stop a tank, but given a few moments of focus, she could probably bend the barrel of its main gun so it wouldn’t fire or, if she were familiar with the model, could shift parts of the engine so it would break down abruptly.) She’s much less shy about this ability than her other one, and at home, her bosses know about it and use it tactically. (They don’t know about the probability manipulation.)

A colleague has told her she probably has the ability to learn practical magic, as it’s commonly termed - the kind of magic that takes study - but she’s not especially interested, as it would probably mean giving up field work and going into research.

part ii.
1.) Is it acceptable for your character to be mind-controlled or persuaded? How susceptible are they to mind control, hypnotism, or suggestion? She has no special resistance. I'd be open to it, though please discuss with me ooc
2.) Is it acceptable for your character to have their mind read? Does this include traumatic memories? What is their mind like (disturbing, orderly, joyful, surprisingly empty, etc.)? If the character has psychic walls or preventative measures against psychic interference, please explain. Passive mindreading is fine. For anything not mentioned in narration, please talk to me.
3.) Are thoughts mentioned in narration acceptable for a telepath to pick up? yes, this is always fine
4.) What about emotions, in the case of an empath? What sort of general emotional reading would such a character receive from yours? This is also fine. Emily is usually pretty emotionally controlled; she's not cold, but she's careful and her mistrust is not readily evident to observe, but would be obvious to an empath.
5.) Are there any aspects of your character's mind, emotions, or memories you would like to be picked up, mentioned, or used in character? Conversely, is there anything that should not be noticed, or at least never mentioned? Nothing in particular to either!

part iii.
1.) Physically speaking, what stands out about your character? Imposing size? Physical scarring? Tattoos? She's quite pretty, and takes care to be so. Otherwise, nothing terribly remarkable at first blush.
2.) Is your character immune to any of the following: poisons, chemical agents, telekinetic influence, radiation, or types of illnesses? None of the above.
3.) Is your character physiologically different from a human in any way? This can include their blood, skin, hair, et cetera being made up of something unusual or simply differing in construction and durability. Not that she knows of! Any differences would be very subtle and/or need magic to observe; talk to me if it comes up.
4.) Are you amenable to having your character be harmed in any way? How far are you comfortable with injury to you character going? Does this include being fed on by vampires, willingly or unwillingly? I am okay with harm if she's in hazardous situations or if we've talked about it ooc. Please no big injuries, such as a broken limb, without asking.
5.) Is it acceptable for other characters with abilities of shapeshifting or disguise to imitate your character? Does this include ability mimicry? Yes.

part iv.
1.) Can your character's presence or aura be noticed by other characters, and how would it look/feel to them? How would it manifest to a character with no supernatural abilities, if at all? Yes - especially when she's using either of her powers, but strongly her manipulations of chance, she's going to go off like a beacon for people who know what they're looking at. When she's not actively using her abilities, she would probably show up as a potential magic user but it would be obvious she's untrained. Grab me if you want more details.
2.) Can your character be affected by magic spells and curses? Mostly, yes.
3.) Can your character be affected by sin and corruption, and be tempted toward expressing their darker urges (of whatever flavor)? Probably.
4.) What sort of sins is the character prone toward, and how might they best be tempted, if you are interested in such an event? She's a bit of a hedonist, and she has an angry streak she keeps hidden.
5.) Are you amenable to the character receiving prophetic visions, including as part of a plot? Yes.

2.) Is it acceptable for canonmates that are updated further than yours to inform your character of events yours has not yet experienced? n/a, though if there are characters who met her dad (...are there?), feel free to notice a likeness
3.) Are there triggering or upsetting topics you would like other characters to avoid mentioning to yours for the sake of continued comfort (racist words, homophobia, self-injury, etc.)? I'd prefer people avoid hate speech.
